Situational Awareness
Baseline level of situational awareness is achieved through the sensor fusion of radar, machine vision, mmWave radar, and AIS data. It enables reliable detection of surrounding vessels and obstacles under standard operational conditions.
Additional sensors can be integrated to further enhance detection, classification, and tracking capabilities, particularly in complex or low-visibility environments.
Advanced Machine Vision
Machine Vision is a core capability of Full Autonomy, enabling it to accurately perceive, interpret, and respond to its surrounding environment. Visual data captured by onboard cameras and sensors is processed using state-of-the-art deep learning algorithms, allowing the system to reliably detect and classify objects such as other vessels, maritime markers, rocks, and floating equipment.
By transforming raw visual input into real-time situational awareness, Machine Vision empowers autonomous ships to navigate safely, make informed decisions, and operate confidently in complex and dynamic maritime environments.
Obstacle Avoidance
Based on situational awareness data, the Full Autonomy solution enables the vessel to autonomously detect obstacles and execute collision avoidance manoeuvres in accordance with following COLREG rules:
- Rule 13 – Overtaking
- Rule 14 – Head-on situation
- Rule 15 – Crossing situation
- Rule 16 – Action by the give-way vessel
- Rule 17 – Action by the stand-on vessel
Over-the-Horizon control
The MindChip web-based user interface provides real-time situational awareness through fused data from digital charts, AIS, radar, and EO/IR sensors, combined with live telemetry, comprehensive vessel diagnostics, and continuous fault monitoring. Designed for operational flexibility, it supports multi-screen configurations and immersive 360° live camera streaming.
The platform enables advanced mission management, including patrol operations, precise waypoint navigation, and rapid mission tasking. Operators can seamlessly control payloads and auxiliary onboard systems from a single, unified interface.
Portable Control
In addition, the operator can control the robotic vessel using a tablet-based application, which enables remote vessel control via an on-screen joystick, while simultaneously maintaining real-time situational awareness through live camera streams of the vessel’s surroundings. Application is available for both iOS and Android operating systems.
Autonomous docking
Powered by advanced LiDAR-based near-field situational awareness, precise and reliable autonomous docking is optional feature of Full Autonomy – even in the tightest harbor conditions. The system continuously perceives surrounding structures, vessels, and obstacles in real time, allowing smooth, controlled maneuvers without human intervention.
Designed for safety and accuracy, autonomous docking reduces operator workload, minimizes risk, and ensures consistent performance in complex docking environments
