Last week, I had the opportunity to visit Singapore together with my colleague Pirko Konsa as part of the Nordic Innovation Day delegation. The primary goal of the trip was to attend the Singapore Week of Innovation and Technology (SWITCH) and meet key stakeholders in the region’s innovation and deep-tech ecosystem.
Although this was my third time in Singapore, the visit provided an excellent chance to reconnect with existing partners and build new relationships. My sincere thanks to everyone I had the pleasure of meeting — founders, industry leaders, and venture capital representatives. A few of them include:

Johan Lassing – CEO Qamcom Group
Jonas Sandberg – Co Qamcom Group
Yee Jia Ooi – ShipsFocus Ventures 船狂
Karl Lindoff – Scania Group VC
Tyng Tyng C – VP Strategic Investment, ST Engineering
Johanna LindroosKaruna Capital
Vladimir BataevZaz Ventures
Josefina SonnhammerScience Park Gotland
Sushant SharmaAlveon Capital
Katja Lindvall – VP, Moving Floor AB
Roine Ahlquist, CCO & Felina Lin, VP – Wilhelmsen Ship Management
Vijay Sirse – CEO Destiny Enegy
Xuan Hong Lim – Deputy Director, Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA)
TONY PARK – CEO, KOAI
Arwin ZendehrokhIgnite Sweden

I also had the privilege to take the stage four times to introduce our autonomous vessel control system and share insights on the future of maritime AI. A highlight of the trip was signing a research and development cooperation memorandum with KOAI, a company developing oil-skimming and environmental cleanup systems. At MindChip, we focus on AI-driven autonomous navigation and control solutions — and together, we see immense global potential.
In major ports where fuel transport and bunkering take place, rapid response to pollution incidents is essential. Autonomous cleanup vessels that continuously patrol port waters are a logical next step. Our collaboration with KOAI also opens the door to key partnerships in South Korea and the wider Asia-Pacific market, helping introduce our AI-powered captain technology to new environments and applications.

A big thank you to the organizers of the Nordic Innovation Day, the Estonia Embassy in Singapore, Startup Estonia, Ignite Sweden, SISP – Swedish Incubators & Science Parks, Embassy of Sweden, TechInnovation, IPI Singapore and everyone who contributed to making this mission a success. I truly believe this trip laid a strong foundation for future cooperation ✌
