MindChip certified to IEC 62443-2-4 for the Artificial Captain Server Platform

Tallinn, 27 August 2026 — MindChip OÜ has received IECEE Certificate of Conformity CZ-3268, confirming conformity with IEC 62443-2-4:2023 for the roles of Integrator and Maintenance Provider. The certificate covers the Artificial Captain Server Platform.

The certificate was issued by Elektrotechnický zkušební ústav, s.p. (EZÚ) of Prague, the Czech National Certification Body operating under the IECEE Industrial Cyber Security Capability Scheme. It follows an assessment carried out between 13 July and 17 August 2026, combining a review of controlled documentation and conformity evidence with interviews and an assessment at which platform configuration and technical controls were demonstrated.

What was assessed

The assessment was anchored to a named, versioned subject — the Artificial Captain Server Platform — and reached into how that platform is designed, built and hardened, not only the procedures around it.

Assessors examined the platform’s security architecture against its documented design: how the system is segmented, which interfaces are treated as trusted and untrusted, and what protects each of them. A documented STRIDE threat analysis of the solution was among the evidence accepted, alongside records covering system hardening, network exposure, secure communication and vulnerability scanning of the platform’s components. Also assessed was what it takes to keep the system secure once deployed — account management and authentication, controlled remote access, security logging and incident handling, patch management, backup and restore, and the competence and vetting of the people doing the work.

In total, 234 individual requirements across 14 areas were assessed. MindChip passed all 152 requirements found applicable to its roles and scope, with no failures and no nonconformities.

Why it matters for maritime autonomy

Autonomous and remotely operated vessels move control functions off the bridge and onto networked systems ashore. Operators, ports, border and coastguard authorities buying that kind of capability increasingly need evidence — not assurances — that both the system and the organisation delivering it work to a recognised security baseline. IEC 62443 is the reference framework for industrial control system security, and part 2-4 addresses what the provider integrating and maintaining the system has to get right, including how the delivered solution is architected, hardened and configured.

For customers and tender authorities, the certificate provides independent third-party confirmation from a National Certification Body that the Artificial Captain Server Platform and MindChip’s delivery and maintenance of it have been assessed against that baseline and found conforming.
