New Milestone Reached for Autonomous Oil Spill Clean-up Robot
We are excited to announce that the development of the autonomous oil spill clean-up robot MC4000 has reached a new milestone! Last week, MC4000 was launched into the water for the very first time!
The vessel’s hull is complete, the power and control electronics have been installed, and the autonomous navigation sensors have been successfully integrated. Although the software development is largely complete, further fine-tuning and optimization are still required.
The MC4000 is being developed in close collaboration with Tallinn Shipyard, one of BLRT REPAIR YARDS. It is specifically designed to operate in the southern and northern basins of Tallinn Shipyard, ensuring water surface cleanliness and preventing contamination. The next step is the port testing phase, where we will focus on evaluating the vessel’s capabilities and autonomous functions.
We are united by a shared goal: to make our seas cleaner in the future. A big thank you to everyone who continues to contribute to this project and support our mission! 🌊
The MindChip MC4000 project is supported by the KIK (Environmental Investment Centre), a hub for innovative and efficient ecological solutions in Estonia.
