Proof of Concept of Energy Efficient Universal Autonomous Surface Vessel

2018 – 2020

As part of the project, a next-generation autonomous surface vehicle (ASV) was developed. This applied research project was carried out in collaboration with MEC Insenerilahendused OÜ, Hyrles OÜ, and TalTech.

The main outcome of the project is a universal, autonomous workboat prototype platform equipped with the necessary software to support four key applications: oil spill detection and clean-up, waste collection, sea monitoring and data collection, and transportation.

To ensure enhanced energy efficiency and improved operational capabilities, the platform integrates the latest advancements in power electronics, energy management, and embedded control systems. During the course of the project, the platform will be tested in a relevant (controlled) environment to validate its performance.
